Purpose:

In order to continue the development of our players with a fast-paced soccer game, the summer soccer experience is back to the Chattahoochee Valley for competitive U8 thru U19 Boys and Girls teams/ players. The CVCL Presented by Concorde Fire South is being formed to offer a fun semi-competitive summer league in order to allow players to stay in shape and get touches on the ball this summer to prepare them for their Fall Seasons.

Structure:

The league will be open to any and all Pre-Academy, Recreational, Academy, Select and current college Freshmen. Players may form their own teams or request to be placed on a team subject to an available slot being open. Games will be played during the week and on the weekends at the Woodruff Farm Rd Soccer Complex in the evenings, weekend games may be played in the mornings. Teams will play 6-8 regular-season games during the month of June- July. Games will begin on June 14th. Playoffs will be held July 15-18th.

Format:

U8-U12 teams will play in a 7v7 plus a GK format on a U10 size field. Teams are required to have a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 12 players on their rosters. Games will consist of two 25-minute halves.

U13-College Teams will play 7v7 plus a GK format on a U10 size field. Teams are required to have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players. Games will consist of two 30-minute halves.

**Goal Keepers can guest play/ play for more than 1 team if needed**

***Guest players who are REGISTERED with the league are allowed in case numbers are low. If a team has more than 1 sub no guest players are allowed other than a GK. NO Guests players allowed during playoffs***

**** In order to keep a competitive balance, the following rules apply****

1. If a team is winning by four goals, the team leading must take a player off the field until the score gets to 3 or less then the team may add the player back.

2. If a team is winning by 5 goals or more the team trailing may add an additional player to the field. Once the score drops back to 4 then the extra player must come off.

Cost:

The cost of the league is $560 per team for both divisions. Teams should send in one payment for the entire team. Payment is due by June 6th. Payments can be sent via Venmo to @CFC-Concorde.

Uniforms:

Teams are allowed to wear their club uniform or make custom uniforms for this league. Teams must have a light colour and dark colour jersey. Home teams wear light colours and away teams wear dark.

Shin Guards:

Shin guards are required equipment for all players and are to be worn at all matches. Shin guards are to be covered entirely by the players’ socks. Shin guards are to be made of suitable-material, rubber or plastic to provide a reasonable degree of protection.

Parents Coaching from the sidelines:

Coaching from the sideline is NOT permitted. Respect the referees, they have more training than players, spectators and coaches in the Laws of the Game.

Coaches:

Coaching from the sidelines is permitted, so long as one is giving direction to one’s own team on points of strategy, tactics and position provided that the following conditions are complied with:

1. No mechanical devices are used

2. The tone of voice is informative and sportsman like PENALTY: Disciplinary action by the Disciplinary Committee.

3. Respect the referees, they have more training than players, spectators and coaches in the Laws of the Game.

Standings:

We will use the point system to track standings however, the regular season will be used to allow the same amount of playing time for players and teams. To determine standings, we will use the following point system: WIN = 3 points; TIE = 1 point; LOSS = 0 Points.

Play-off Games:

To determine a playoff, we will use our standings to put the teams in the right bracket matching teams’ level of play.

Start at the Scheduled Time:

At the scheduled time for the match, the minimum number of players will constitute a team and the match will start at the scheduled time. There is no permissible waiting period to wait for additional players to arrive at the game site.

Substitutions with the consent of the Referee at any stoppage in play:

1. Change With the Goalkeeper: Any of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper provided that the Referee is informed before the change is made and that the change is made during a stoppage in the game.

2. Substitution Procedure: When a goalkeeper or any other player is to be replaced by a substitute, the following conditions shall be observed:

A. The Referee shall be informed of the proposed substitution before it is made.

B. The substitute shall not enter the field of play until the player he is replacing has left, and then only after receiving a signal from the Referee.

C. Enter the field during a stoppage in the game, and at the halfway line.

Team Registration:

Eligibility is open to all youth irrespective of race, nationality, colour or religious affiliation or non-affiliation. The league is limited to youth players or Current Freshman College players. In order to register a team, the coach or team manager/ representative should send an email with a team name, age group of players (teams will be placed based upon the age of the oldest player), and a proposed roster using the roster provided to cvlccfsouthsoccer@gmail.com

Registration deadline is May 31st. Please register early as space is limited. Full roster isn’t needed at time of registration, just intent to place a team and team name.

Coach Presence at Games

U8-U15 teams must have a coach or administrator at all scheduled matches in which the team participates. A coach can be a parent/ volunteer. CVCL Substitution Rules:

• Players are recommended to have at least 6-8 minutes of playing time before substitution; this is to ensure equal playing time for all. It also allows players time to perform and develop.

• It is strongly recommended ALL players get equal playing time to ensure development.

• Substitutions can occur at any stoppage for either team with the referee’s consent.

Ball Size:

U8s- U12s will play with a size 4 ball.

U13s-College will play with a size 5 ball.

Incomplete Games:

In the event a game cannot be completed, the game counts if half the game was completed. If there is no result and the match is suspended prior to the expiration of one half, the games shall be repeated at a time agreed upon by the competing teams in consultation with the CVCL League Director.

Any team directly responsible for the termination of the game due to poor sportsmanship toward referee, opposing fans or opposing players will result in that team forfeiting the match. This could also lead to other possible penalties set by the CVCL Disciplinary Committee.

No-Shows/Forfeits: A no-show occurs when a team willfully does not show up to a game agreed to by the teams. Penalties for no-shows are as follows:

• A forfeit to the opposing team: 0-4 loss

Referees

1. Referees will verify players and ensure they are properly equipped to play the game.

2. Referee shall require that both teams provide a Game Roster Form — one (1) copy of the excel roster form.
